Assign Components to Units

In Admin, within the Components tab, you will assign your components. You can select Permanent Differences, Temporary Differences, Tax Adjustments or Sub-Consolidations and then using the Assignment Mode functionality, assign them to specific units.

To assign Permanent Differences, Temporary Differences or Tax Adjustments components to units:

1.From the Manage drop-down list, select Permanent Differences, Temporary Differences or Tax Adjustments in which you wish to add Units.
2.Click the Assignment Mode button to toggle to the assignment mode table. The Code and Unit Name appear on the right side of the table.
3.To see which components are assigned to a unit, select a unit. Assigned components are highlighted in blue.
4.In the right side of the table, select the Code/Unit Name to which you want to assign components.
5.In the left side of the table, select the components that you want to assign to the unit (to select multiple components, hold the Ctrl key while you click each component; to select all components hold the Shift key and select the first and last component).
6.Click Save Assignments. A success message appears in a yellow box at the top of the page showing that the Components are successfully assigned.
7.To exit (toggle from) the Assignment Mode, select the Assignment Mode button.

 

To assign SubConsolidation components to units:

1.From the Manage drop-down list, select SubConsolidations in which you wish to add Units.
2.Click the Assignment Mode button to toggle to the assignment mode table. The Code and Unit Name appear on the right side of the table.
3.To see which units are assigned to a sub-consolidation, select a SubConsolidation Name. Assigned components are highlighted in blue.
4.On the left side of the table, select the sub-consolidation that you want to assign units.
5.On the right side of the table, select the Code/Unit Name to assign to the sub-consolidation (to select multiple components, hold the Ctrl key while you click each component; to select all components hold the Shift key and select the first and last component).
6.Click Save Assignments. A success message appears in a yellow box at the top of the page showing that the SubConsolidation successfully assigned.
7.To exit (Toggle from) the Assignment Mode, select the Assignment Mode button.

 

To un-assign components from units:

1.Hold Ctrl and then select the components in the table.
2.Click Save Assignments. A message appears in a yellow box at the top of the screen stating that components are successfully assigned.

 

To cancel changes:

If you added a component to a unit or removed a component from a unit, select Cancel to revert to the original assignments. This option is only available after changes have been made, but before clicking Save Assignments.


Notes:

In Assignment Mode, you cannot add, edit, or delete components. You must select the Assignment Mode button to leave the "assignment mode" table and then make changes to your components.
States are not assigned to units using the "assignment mode".
